Behind the Scenes
My Process:
It starts with the fiber. The materials are hand selected for each project, with quality and richness of color in mind. For this project, a hand dyed ultra soft merino roving was selected. Then the fibers were hand spun into yarn with either a single ply structure.

Once spun the yarn is gently soaked in cold water with a wool wash (Eucalan) and hung to air dry in the Georgia sunshine. Once dry, they are skeined and measured as accurately as possible. Then the yarn is immediately packaged in a sealed bag, ready for shipment.
Hand washing in cool water and drying flat is recommended, even items spun with superwash wool.
All of the fiber and materials for this item have been sourced from artisans, small farms, and small businesses.

Hand spun yarn has the typical characteristic of slight unevenness in the strands. The weight may vary slightly from DK to light worsted.
It is always best practice to swatch a gauge for whatever project you choose for your yarn.
