Prerecorded Video
If your goal is to present information to your audience, then a pre-recorded video is the way to go. Anytime you have very specific information you want to deliver, and you don’t want to ramble, or get lost, or sidetracked by questions, it’s best to prepare a script and record your video.
This is a great option for those who would like to get your “virtual” feet wet. If you have a camera (or an iphone/android, ipad/tablet, laptop, webcam, etc) you can record a video. Click here to learn how to make a video on an iphone.
BENEFITS:
- Weak or spotty internet connection: You do not have to depend on your internet connection/bandwidth (especially if you live in a rural area).
- What is Facebook Live? If you have never connected to a live stream on Facebook – don’t worry! With this option you don’t need to know how to start a live stream on Facebook. Camp Yarnsie broadcasts your live stream video for you.
- Higher video quality. For a live stream broadcast your device(s) are working hard and allocating resources to to collect audio and video, condense those signals into smaller packets that can be sent, and then receive information which has to be decoded all at the same time. For a prerecorded broadcast your devices are not having to pull 3 different jobs at once. This means the quality of your video is not being sacrificed due to the memory load, etc. of your device(s).
- Technical glitches: Don’t worry about audio issues, blurry videos or other random technical glitches ruining a live broadcast.
- Human moments: Those human errors like slipups, fumbling, etc. – its natural – you don’t have to beat yourself up about that. When recording you can have as many “do-overs” as you would like.
- Potential interruptions: If you don’t have a guaranteed quiet space 100% free from unexpected visitors (kids, pets, random people) interrupting I highly recommend a prerecorded video. Now, some of your viewers may be forgiving. But many may be put off by these interruptions. And, you may lose a chunk of them if your live event is not well planned and executed.

Live Streaming
What is live streaming? Live-streaming content is being filmed as it is being streamed electronically to viewers who are watching it. There is little to no significant delay from the time that the video content is being filmed to the time when viewers are watching it. This makes the video content “raw” and “unedited”, which may provide viewers a chance to connect more intimately with the content.
If your goal is to interact with your audience and have a limited dialogue in real-time then live streaming is the way to go. Live streams are great for gaining insight into your audience members such as learning what’s on their minds, what they are looking for, and what products they find appealing. The key is to take time to say hello and get your audience involved with engagement tools, such as polls and games. This style works best for those with engaging personalities. Comedians, musicians, entrepreneurs, motivational speakers, podcasters and small business owners are just some examples of the variety of marketers who can use this format to really engage with the consumers.
BENEFITS:
- Allow viewers backstage or a glimpse into the personalities of those who are a part of the brand.
- As you create more interaction opportunities with your audience, you’ll see increases in participation and the number of viewers. This is because you are tapping into a specific market of people who prefer live streaming over other types of content.

Live Streaming PLUS
If your goal is to actively engage your audience in a conversation, then this is the way to go. This is the super model of live streaming options. If you want an event where you direct the flow of your presentation based upon the viewer’s posts in the chats, this is the option for you.
This event type is be perfect for those vendors who use the chat comments & direct invoicing for their sales format (i.e., commenting “sold” with an item #). Let the moderator keep up with your numbers or assign a number to each item and post that number across the chats. No more struggling to remember which number you are on.
This event type is also a great fit for a real live auction with real time bidding. You start the bidding off at a certain number (example: $5.00) and then let the moderator direct the bidding and announce the winner. Easy to invoice the winners later – after each item the moderator can type the item number and the name of the winner in the chat.
Get the all the benefits of the Live Streaming option with the following added features:
- PLUS Youtube LIVE: Increase your exposure even further by streaming live to YouTube (that’s a total of 5 locations your presentation will be streaming on)
- PLUS Live Moderator. The moderator handles the live stream broadcast of your event across Facebook PLUS Camp Yarnsie’s YouTube channel. All you have to do is click a link and the moderator will bring you into the live stream.
- PLUS Real Time Chat Support: Respond in LIVE – real time to questions and/or comments posted from viewers. How? The moderator monitors the live stream and the chat across Facebook and YouTube. As viewers post in the chats the moderator will select questions & or comments for you to respond to. When selected the question/comment from the viewer will appear will appear on a banner on the bottom of the screen, which you and your viewers can see (just like a sports ticker or news channel). If you can’t see your screen or you do not notice the question/comment appear the moderator will direct your attention by verbally reading the question/comment to you.
FAQS:
- Do I need an internet connection? Yes, you will need an internet connection with a speed of 5 mbps or higher. If your internet connection speed is lower than 5 mbps you will be unable to connect to Facebook Live and/or you run the risk of being disconnected.
- What happens if during my event – I am disconnected? The moderator will appear on the stream and announce to the viewers there has been an unanticipated interruption in your feed and will request for viewers to be patient as we anticipate your speedy return. As soon as you are able to reconnect the moderator will bring you back into the feed, and you will continue your event until the end of your time slot. If you are unable to reconnect within 10 minutes the moderator will close the live broadcast.
- Can I carry over the time I was disconnected into another vendor’s time slot? No. Unfortunately live happens. We recommend practicing how to connect to a live stream at least 7 business days prior to your event. It is always best practice to check on your internet speed by running a speed test at least 14 days prior to your event so you have adequate time to make adjustments (if needed). While the moderator is technically broadcasting the stream for you, you still need an internet connection strong enough (at or above 5 mbps) and consistent to support joining the stream.
